Foster 40-80 Regulatory Information


1) What is the Shelf life of 40-80?

A. 12 months would be standard shelf life.  This is from the manufacturer of the active.

2) Can the customer fog it?  Where I they heat it up and spray a fine mist?

A. Fogging is not a use included on our label.  It is coarse spray only.  Sprayers like trigger sprayers, pump-up garden sprayers or low-pressure airless spray can be used but can’t suggest fogging or misting type sprayers.

3) Are empty pails recyclable? Reusable? Returnable?

A. Per the product label the pails are not reusable or returnable.  They can be recycled based on plastic type as stamped on the bottom of the pail.

4) What is HB Fuller Return Policy on First Defense 40-80 Disinfectant?

A. We do not accept returns on FD 40-80.  The customer is responsible to follow the proper storage & disposal instructions on the label.

6) Is there a Canadian Material #?

A. Yes 

7) Can FD 40-80 be used for food contact surfaces? 

A. FD 40-80 may also be used to disinfectant washable hard, non-porous surfaces such as tables, floors, walls, countertops as well as hard non-porous inanimate environmental surfaces found in hospitals, food processing areas, homes, restaurants, hotels, health clubs and spas.  Before use in a federally inspected meat and poultry food processing plants and dairies, food products and packaging materials must be removed from the room or carefully protected. If used on food prep surfaces, there is an additional step of rinsing before preparing food.  This is common practice for food prep surfaces.  Please see attached copy of our label with the relevant food processing statements highlighted.

8) How long is the FD 40-80 Stable?

9) Will it degrade like diluted bleach?

A. It does not degrade like bleach.

10) Is the product diluted, or ready to go out of the pail?

A. Ready for Use out of the pail.

12) Does the 5-gallon Pail have a Pour Spout?  

A. Yes – The 5-gallon pails do have the retractable plastic pour spouts for pouring material into smaller containers.
